This month’s collective reading features a Release / Embrace / Advice spread using three different decks: #LandBack Tarot and Oracle of Colonization by Aunty KPrisma Visions Tarot by James R. Eads, and the Tarot of Trees by Dana Driscoll. I pulled a card from each deck for each prompt, so the first column is release, the second embrace, and the third advice. Release cards: Scout of Drums, 6 of Wands, 9 of Pentacles. Embrace: X Mirror reversed, 8 of Wands, and 6 of Wands reversed. Advice: 3 of Cups reversed, King of Swords reversed, 2 of Cups.

As the northern hemisphere moves into the darker half of the year, Tarot invites us to surrender to a time when we are deeply reactive, despite our best efforts to be proactive. Much is happening quickly around us that is out of our control, such as the most recent humanitarian crisis in Palestine. We may be emerging from recent conflicts at work, in our communities, or with friends and wanting to hurry toward resolution. Meanwhile, the things we want to manifest aren’t showing much movement at all. The impulse may be to do something- anything!- to ease the tension. But sometimes the best way to establish a new, more sustainable equilibrium is by giving the unpleasant parts the time, space, and air they need.

To support this, we are invited to release the need to continue work and communities/friend groups where we feel invested and celebrated but dissatisfied. We are working towards something we no longer want. We may be trying to convince ourselves to not “waste” the time and effort we’ve already put in, but is anything we do truly a waste? We can feel perpetually trapped in the cycle of being the best at what we’re learning or trying to be a peacemaker.

As we move forward into November and beyond, it’s time to focus on strengthening one-on-one relationships and reciprocity rather than mediating. We are moving into a very non-linear season. The world darkens, and our path becomes less clear. Just like any other cycle in nature, our relationships to work and our loved ones have their own rhythms. Observe and honor these rhythms, knowing that you are doing all that you need to.

Until next time, dear readers!

💜 Lindsay
